Chaindesk AI Review: Clunky and Too Many Rocketships...

Advantages of Chaindesk:

  • Response Speed: Similar to a lot of other chatbot platforms, Chaindesk elected to build a fast chatbot at the expense of accuracy. They picked their poison.
  • Price: Chaindesk is inexpensive compared to alternatives. It has low limits, but justly so considering how cheap some of their plans are.

Disadvantages of Chaindesk:

  • Integrations: Chaindesk has a few integrations. Namely, Telegram, Slack, Crisp, Zapier, and WhatsApp. Their documentation is sparse, so we don't know how each individual integration works. However, they are missing CRM, ticketing, and data loader integrations.
  • Accuracy: Using only one layer of GPT3.5 means you get fast responses at the expense of potentially missed information and minor hallucinations.
  • Weird Responses: Why does every response end with a rocketship emoji? You tell me! Here's a screenshot of me testing out a demo chatbot trained on Rivit's website.

Customer Satisfaction - 5/10

Chaindesk is okay. The chat responses and accuracy are decent. The response speed is great and the interface is nothing to write home about. They have some happy customer reviews on their website and on ProductHunt so clearly something is working.

Accuracy - 6/10

Chaindesk’s accuracy is decent but not exceptional. Since it employs just one layer of GPT-3.5 to boost speed, you might often encounter average responses. These hallucinations or incomplete answers can be quite frustrating, causing users to potentially lose interest and churn.

They do have an accuracy rating for each chat while you are testing your agent. This is helpful to know how accurate (or inaccurate) your chatbot is so you can get ahead of the problem. However, if you'd like to avoid the accuracy issue in the first place, you may want to look elsewhere.

Response Speed - 9/10

Chaindesk responds fast — and we mean ultra-fast. Their chatbot kicks off responses in under a second. This sounds impressive until you realize it's often at the expense of accuracy. Striking a balance between precision and speed is a common challenge for all customer support and chatbot platforms.

Integrations - 4/10

Chaindesk integrates with Telegram, Slack, Crisp, Zapier, and WhatsApp. After some digging, we couldn't find out how each integration worked because we weren't on a paid plan. 😯

However, we did notice quite a few integrations missing. Namely, ticketing, CRM, and data loader integrations. These include Zendesk, Freshdesk, Hubspot, Notion, Google Drive, Dropbox, and more. Without those, it's hard to use Chaindesk as a comprehensive customer support platform.

Ease of Set Up - 5/10

Chaindesk.ai is kind of easy to set up. Even a non-coder can have a custom chatbot up and running in under 60 minutes.

Customization:

Chaindesk has plenty of customization options that are relatively easy to use. Navigating around the interface is difficult at first, but once you find your way, it's easy to customize your chatbot.

Uploading Information:

Uploading information is super quick. Just a few clicks and you're done.

Deploying:

Deploying your chatbot is also extremely easy. Similar to nearly all chatbot builders, all you need to do is copy and paste the embed code into your website header and you're done.

Customer Support Features - 5/10

Chaindesk is better than most chatbot-building platforms because they've added forms. Custom forms are extremely important as they're imperative for collecting tickets and leads from your website or app. This puts them leagues above the rest. However, Chaindesk is still missing numerous other features that would make it a comprehensive customer support platform such as adequate integrations and in-app ticketing.
